God's Work, Our Hands weekend

Friday-Saturday-Sunday

September 6-7-8, 2019

Every year, thousands of ELCA congregations across the U.S. participate in an initiative called “God’s Work, Our Hands” Weekend. During this time, congregations are urged to intentionally get out into their respective communities to engage in service.

This year, that weekend is September 6-7-8, and the people of St. Mark's are focusing our service on the St. Mark's Child Development Center (CDC). Our plan is to get the whole place repainted! We will be moving furniture, prepping walls, and adding a fresh coat of paint. We'll also be creating hand-made cards to send to the CDC families to show our support.

Here is a breakdown of the weekend events:

Friday, September 6, 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Prep for painting, move furniture, put tape up and tarps down

Saturday, September 7, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Paint, with pizza lunch from Gourmet Pizza

Sunday, September 8, 11:45 a.m. – ???

Pizza first, then paint and set back up the classrooms, PLUS creating cards for the CDC families

Hope to see you there! For more information, please call the church office: 630-897-6891. Sign up sheets are available at the church Welcome Center.
